Holosun HS507C-X2 Pistol Red Dot Sight - ACSS® Vulcan® Reticle

As a 25+ year shooter of iron sights I struggled with red dot training. Switching from front sight focus to target focus was difficult and standard dots slowed me down so much that I opted to continue with iron sights on my carry gun.
This reticle made a significant difference in my training.
With only a few days of dry firing and range trips I am now confident with an optic on my carry gun.
So far the Holosun has been solid and reliable.

Was transitioning to a red dot but was worried about not being able to find the dot. This reticle is the answer.

You guessed it! The clarity of the chevron and the 32 MOA circle is absolutely awesome. Found this while watching Mrgunsngear on Youtube...Too bad I didn't find that video sooner...could have saved myself about $1200 based on all the other red dots I've been buying. Even optics maker needs to add the Chevron to their line up...especially for those of us who have astigmatism.

After many weeks I finally received my Holosun from Primary Arms but I have one large gripe. The optic doesn't come with the usual picatinny adapter like all other HS507Cs I've seen. It's kind of lame because you can see the packaging has the cutout for the adapter but no adapter. The fact it references calibers 5.56 I would assume it can be pic mounted but now have to search high and low for a suitable adapter. Frankly I was going to try it out on my PCC but now I have to wait to see if I can find a pic adapter for the optic. Not sure if it's Holosun or Primary Arms decision to not include the pic adapter but either way I think it should be clearly noted and maybe have a seperate option to buy the adapter.

I was hesitant to switch over to an RDO on my pistol, but after several great reviews on this optic, and running the ACSS HS503G on my AR for a while, I finally made the switch. Easy and fast to pick up, and similar reticle and ranging features to my rifle. Love it.

I got mine from Rainier Arms since there was no wait for them to ship at the time. I've installed the acss holosun on my Staccato 2011 and it's an unstoppable combination. Fast on target and fast accurate shot placement. The outer ring is amazing. I'm getting used to the chevron over a dot but it's fast to pick up because of the size.

It does everything you'd expect and does it well. Feels very solidly built and glass clarity is fine. One thing I'd like to note is that the battery life in practical use is not great. That outer ring really kills battery. Using on a concealed pistol on a fairly bright setting I got about 3 or 4 months of use. Still not a big deal since batteries are cheap and you don't have to remove the sight to replace batteries. It's also pretty easy to tell when the battery is low. None of this is really a con though since you don't have to use the outer ring, just something to keep in mind.

This is the cats meow! As an experienced dot shooter this sight functions at a high level, once zeroed in you really have to have a bad day at the range if you are planning on dropping shots.
