To make sure that the mount nut is fully tightened, turn the nut clockwise until resistance is encountered. After that, turn another 1/2 turn. If a torque wrench is being used, they recommend no more than 35-40 in-lbs.

There are better mounts for the money

I returned mine. Measuring the bottom ring halves with calipers, they are way bigger than one inch until about .3" down from the top, big reduction of scope gripping power right there. Also have little dings around the edges of the rings that would need filed off. Rings would benefit from lapping as I can see grind marks on the inside. Cross bolts have flats but are radiused meaning you will only have a little contact inside pic slot. I am not reworking this mount. For the price, there are others that are good to go like Burris PEPR and Midway AR Stoner. As is, this mount is only slightly better than Amazon and EBay junk and should be half the current price.
