The heart of the tough Gen II 5X Prism Scope is the ACSS Aurora reticle - the very first foray into meter-based ranging and fire solutions. The feature-rich and intuitive reticle design is uncluttered, designed to communicate vital information in an efficient manner to not only increase first-hit probability but drastically reduce the time necessary to reach a firing solution to get that hit. From 300m and in, the illuminated chevron aiming point provides wicked-quick snap shooting capability and both-eyes open engagement, so you never lose peripheral vision. The outer tips of the chevron pull double duty as leads for targets moving 3.1 mph perpendicular to the shooter. For targets moving a bit faster, the two lead dots on either side of the chevron are leads for a target hustling along at 8.6 mph. Aurora even compensates for mounted targets up to 40mph!

For engagements 400m and out, the integrated bullet drop compensation and wind leads come into play. The tried and true ACSS auto-ranging system allows for near-instant range estimation, which enables rapid transition to the BDC system that offers holdovers in 50m increments out to an impressive 800 meters. The real world often involves wind, and ACSS Aurora provides full value 5 and 10mph wind holds. Is the wind a little stronger or softer, maybe coming at an angle? Use the holds as a reference point and adjust accordingly. For operators in the field, no other reticle provides the combined capabilities and intuitive use of the ACSS Aurora.

The SLx 5X Gen III has even greater strength and flexibility than ever before with the next generation ruggedized mounting system. We’ve upgraded everything about the mount from materials and finish to the design to create a mount that will not just clamp securely to your rail, but stand up the rigors of real-world use. Integrated recoil lugs help lock your mount in place against the heaviest recoil while large diameter crossbolts give you significantly improved clamping power and will hold up to significant torque. The included riser is the perfect height for AR-15s and AR-10s, but can be easily removed for carry handle or AK use as well.

Perfect with Tavor 7

by -

This is the perfect for the Tavor 7.

Great Optic

by -

This optic makes shooting 200 yards feel like 50. Optic clarity is everything and more than you would expect for an Optic at this price. The ACSS aurora reticle is intuitive to use and easy to learn. Overall I could not recommend this optic more.

Buy this ASAP!!

As a consumer and weekend warrior shooter who can’t justify the purchase of the ACOG-Trijicon reticle, THIS optic is your solution. As a Marine, the ACSS -Aurora reticle has been a smooth transition to sighting in. The optic arrived close to Zero, with some fine tune adjustments needed. I shot from 100 yards - 400 yards( 10 mph crosswinds) with ease. The BDC system is accurate along with the windage compensation. If you’re on the fence of making the purchase, do yourself the favor and proceed with it. Optic is high quality and accurate. Extremely satisfied!

so worth it

Really a versatile optic in many ways for my needs. The Aurora reticle easily sets this apart from other dot or prism style scopes. Not Mr. long range sharpshooter here but at 68 years old with less than good vision even I was shooting moa and better within a few clicks at 100. Not sure what I will do at longer ranges but we are sure going to find out. I have two other PA scopes, and this is a favorite simply because the Chevron is bigger and the only part of the reticle that is lit. Oh yes, no sniveling about eye relief its better than expected. Don't think you can go wrong with this and if you absolutely hate it the folks at Primary Arms will probably find a way to put you in your happy spot with something else.

Surprisingly Good Eye Relief

by

I purchased an open box unit and the eye relief is better than I expected, with a fully extended ASC-L from Magpul the sight picture was great. Dual red/green reticles is always nice

Spot on

by

I've have had the 5X prism with the Aurora reticle For 7 months now. I've made several trips to the range I've ran 55GR,62GR, And some 77 From a 16" barrel with 1/8 Rifling The BDC seems to be spot on. But my local range only has out to 400 yd "so There's that" I'm an older guy so my eyes really like the diopter. I really like this optic "a lot".
My son just ordered one for himself as well.and an old battle buddy did too
One of the crossbolts broke and PA sent me a new one no problem. Outstanding customer service.and I did add an American defense mfg qd cantilever mount. and a PA anti reflection device. It's a little bit on the heavy side but not to heavy.
Better get one before you can't.
And yes I would get one over an ACOG

Decent quality until minor failure

Firstly, I've probably only 200-300 rounds on this optic so far, a little premature for a review normally, IMO, but I think its warranted.

The rail has failed and come entirely loose from the factory.

The scope is well. Clear and crisp, has allowed hits to 600 on a 11.5 .223 with proper ammo and some luck. I used it for a night match last night and had minimal issues, even with intense humidity and fogging. Mounting an HS515 to the top, however, proved to be too much weight for the thing to handle. After approx 100 rounds with the dot mounted on top, it has shaken itself loose. It was mounted as a stop gap until I purchased an offset mount, but I still expected it to hold.

Theres no real structural failure. It just came loose. All the screw appeared to have loctite on them. Theyre just small and inadequate for a heavier dot. I plan to keep using the scope, it's wonderful. It is just an inadequate rail for the job of "mount". Cant have it all I guess.

Great prism optic

This feels very well-made. I’m going in a different direction because I want to run long distances precisely. For steel challenges and other competitions, I would imagine this would be awesome. Because it’s 5x, if I had captain mounted it, I would’ve also run a red dot on top of it for close quarters. The eye relief is not inadequate though LPVO. Maybe a bit longer. Only half an inch or so but that might matter. For its intended purpose, I don’t think you can find anything better. It is built very well. And primary arms is a great company.

This is a excellent prism

This is a great scope I love that you have the built-in range finder aurora reticle in my opinion is the best reticle money can buy this is well worth the money 💰

If you are a marine and love your rco you won’t be dissatisfied. I am seasoned veteran, been all over the world and my guns are made for war. This is a good piece of kit. I approve
