Details

This high quality Bear Creek Arsenal barrel goes through its entire production life in Sanford, North Carolina at Bear Creek's facilities. Drilling, reaming, rifling, and turning are all accomplished on their CNC machines under ISO-9002 Quality Systems, allowing Bear Creek to put every barrel through a 100% inspection and air gauging process, ensuring every individual barrel is flawless before it leaves their facilities.

This 18", 1:8 twist, heavy contour barrel is machined from 416R stainless steel, heat treated to RC 28-32 hardness, properly stress relieved, and lightened with eye catching hex patterned "Hornet's Nest" style fluting. Chambered for .223 Wylde, BCA expects that it, along with any of their barrels 16" or longer, will hold a 1.000 MOA group at 100 yards when used with appropriate ammo and shooting techniques.

Great Barrel Great Buy!

Very happy with this barrel. I see by the reviews a couple folks got a bad one but mine is just great. The look of course is very different. Wasn't sure if I was going to like it but I do. And it grabs a lot of attention! More importantly its a very accurate shooter. At the price I paid it is a phenomenal deal.

great product

A great value when i purchased it i have no complaints about this barrel at all. it looks great and functions perfect. i put 25 rounds through it to get it hot and another 25 after it cooled a bit, not one problem. i would buy this barrel again.

Bummed in South Texas

First off machining on the flutes was not 100% done, didn't worry about it, barrel still looked good. Finally took it out to the range yesterday.... very disappointed, fired one shot, hit perfect at 50 yds. second shot fired, case extracted, but bolt sized into barrel (using a spikes bolt). Had to remove upper, fight with it for an hour, too get the bolt free. Then tried to re-seat it by hand, but will not line up, tried 2 different BCGs from other rifles at the range no dice. Tried my full BCG on another rifle worked fine. Got home took it apart and checked everything, all seems to point to the barrel machining (port side or possibly where it sits on upper). Will get with Primary hopefully they can do something about it.
From PA: Hey Victor, Sorry about the bad barrel. Glad we were able to swap out for a good one.

I wanted to love this barrel, but...

I hate to write bad reviews, but I feel that the 5-star rating is misleading from my experience with this barrel. I ordered this barrel and it looked great, felt great, and grabbed the attention of everyone who saw it.

Now the bad part: It jammed every time I went shooting, every time... Long story short, I replaced everything else, but nothing worked except replacing the barrel. I then sent my barrel in for a replacement but the exact same problem occurred with the replacement barrel, the EXACT SAME PROBLEM! After taking it to my friend who is an expert gunsmith, he took pictures of the chamber and noted that Bear Creek Arsenal must have a bad machine bit that created the chamber, because it left a small marring that would firmly grab the bullet casing whenever the barrel cooled after firing a few rounds, therefore causing a guaranteed jam. I returned mine for a full refund...

tl;dr - I wanted to love this barrel, but the quality control of Bear Creek Arsenal just isn't acceptable.

Great buy...

Nice barrel. I matched it with a Guntec 15" honeycomb handguard. Got it on sale at $79.99 awhile back. Waiting for another sale like that to order another. Primary Arms is my first choice for products.

Attention Getter

This barrel is good looking and accurate. A few hundred rounds through it and not a single issue. 1 MOA @ 300 yards. A bit of machining dust out of the packaging. Initial cleaning is a bit of work because of all the fluting. Only negative thing about this barrel is that it gets qiute a bit of attention at the range.
