Add in "built like a tank" construction and a lifetime warranty, and it's easy to see why this scope is so popular.

At the heart of the 4-14x44mm rifle scope is the advanced first focal plane ACSS HUD DMR 5.56 reticle. Tuned specifically for popular 5.56 NATO and .223 Rem loads, the ACSS HUD DMR 5.56 reticle offers a remarkable number of advanced features in a clean and intuitive design. Leads for moving targets out to a full 600 yards, wind leads, ranging, and bullet drop out to 1,000 yards, and even a MIL-ranging system are built in to the clean design. An illuminated horseshoe and center chevron allow for remarkably fast engagement of close-in targets. At any range, hits are intuitive without any need for math or digging through data books! Simply range, hold, and break the shot!

A scope that won’t hold up to real world use won’t do any good, so Primary Arms built the 4-14x44mm FFP tactical rifle scope to last with a heavy-duty aircraft grade 6063 aluminum body and 30mm main tube. Waterproof, shockproof, and fog resistant, this scope is perfectly at home on an AR-15 or your favorite hunting rifle. Even better, the MIL/MIL turrets track correctly through their full 17.5 MIL adjustment range, allowing for confident adjustments for shooters who prefer to count their clicks. With clear glass, heavy duty construction, and a true first focal plane reticle that can be leveraged at every magnification, the 4-14x44mm rifle scope from Primary Arms offers shooters a versatile and effective rifle scope, covered by the 3-year warranty!

Note: While the ACSS HUD DMR 5.56 reticle is compatible with some .308 Winchester loadings, they recommend the dedicated ACSS-HUD-DMR-308 model for those rifles.

Amazing scope and value

by -

The clarity of this scope is equal to a competitors vx3i in the same magnification. That scope was twice as expensive and has a simple duplex reticle. I have it on a Savage 10 in .223. Please note the 5.56 scope is better suited to lighter ammo like 55gr, and the .223/.308 version is better for the heavy rounds like 75gr.

4-14 Scope is Awesome

by

Have used the 308 version several times over the last two years. Loved it so much that I put the 5.56 version on my new AR-15 SPR. I made the right choice. The scope zero at 50 yards took 30 rounds for me to make sure things were working on my new rifle and it was spot on at 100 yards. I took 10 shots at 100 and 6 of those shots were touching! Approximately a 1 moa spread for those six. The scope is super can't wait to shoot again! 18" ultramatch barrel and BCG LaRue Mount with a Mega Billet Upper and Lower. I would buy this again and I will recommend it to my friends.

Great Scope.

This scope is a great value. The reticle looks complicated but really isn't and is quite well thought out. The circle and chevron are bold enough to be useful at 4x and the rest of the lines are fine enough for precision work with the higher powers at long range. The glass is good and all mechanical functions operate smoothly. The illumination turns off between the power settings a real plus at this price point. Unfortunately the illumination is not bright enough for daylight use and I doubt anyone would miss it if it weren't there. They should dump the illumination and include the optional lens shade. That said this is an otherwise well thought out scope with good quality at a very reasonable price that makes long range shooting with .223 / 5.56 a "no-brainer". It doesn't get much better.

I'm old school...

.. and this makes Minute of Man shooting easy. This is basically an ACOG in a telescope plus windage comp capability. Nearly 20 years ago I bought my first ACOG for my AR carbine and was really impressed. One of those on my M16 in Nam woulda been a game changer for sure. Now PA has incorporated even better capabilities into a very good 4-14x44 telescope AND IT WORKS! This is NOT a scope intended for shooting tight groups on paper at extended ranges... it IS designed for Minute of Man center mass shots as encountered by a DM on the battlefield.

Great scope very clear and very accurate

by

I have this and one of the mil dot scopes and both of them are very excellent and have served me well for a while. I mounted this scope to my 20 inch AR and to say the least it is boring out to 300 yards with over 1000 rounds fire with it mounted. A number of people that have shot it have note how accurate the BDC is as well as how the glass is clear enough to tell the difference between the bullet splash and the paint chips coming off the target at 300 yards. Great scope and well worth the investment.

Cant be beat at this price point.

by

I've had the scope for several months. Finally took it out to distance with my 20" BCM Sam-r barrel and 77 Imi the bdc was dead on out to 980 yards. Just dialing for wind and using the hold overs. Impressive to say the least.

Must for a DMR

I love this scope, the reticle is both simple and comprehensive. It allows for precise work, or quick shooting for moving man sized targets. The ranging estimation is also quite wonderful, I especially enjoy ringing 10" plates at 400 yards on the first try. The turrets click nicely and I've run the "box drill" twice, all shots fell within a 3/4th inch of each other.

The reason I pulled a star is because the lighting for the reticle is very dim against sun lit targets, even on the highest setting its barely a faint red glow. However it IS enough to illuminate the reticle against a dark or black background. Hence only one star.

All in all, I would recommend this to a friend building a Designated Marksman Rifle or Special Purpose Rifle. This Scope will take your 5.56 rifle to its limit.

Was hesitant at first. I am now a believer

This scope is great. Beats all scopes at the same price point and even some that are well above.

Great budget scope, worth way more than it costs.

My first venture into FFP optics. I was looking at much higher dollar scopes, but was turned on to these by a respectable long range shooter. I'm glad I gave it a try. I got the Blem version from PA's eBay store for a few bucks less, but you can't tell it's a Blem even upon close examination.
The ACSS HUD DMR reticle was very easy to figure out, and I was on target relatively quickly.
I'm probably going to pick up the Mil/Mil version (or the 4-16x44) for my 270WSM next year to replace my tired old 6.5-20x44 . I need to make sure it will handle the recoil first, though.
